RED events aim to rehabilitate classrooms and facilities in public schools all over the country to enhance the learning environment of students. Recently, 100 Starbucks partner (employee) volunteers, together with the TFP team and teachers from QCHS, fixed broken chairs, desks, doors and blackboards in Quezon City’s premier public science high school. This is in addition to the 224 volunteer service hours Starbucks Philippines has rendered in the past months.

“While TFP believes that the leadership (Teacher) in each classroom is best equipped to maximize learning, it also recognizes that an enhanced learning environment correlates to an increased enthusiasm to learn. The commitment of Starbucks to Renovate to Educate, allows us to directly impact the learning environment with colorful functional chairs, landscaped gardens, and educational murals to name a few,” said Pat Feria Lim, Chief Strategic Resources Officer, TFP.

Since 2014, Starbucks Philippines has hosted and involved hundreds of partners in several RED events in Manila, Laguna and Cagayan de Oro.

“We partner with TFP because we believe that every Filipino has the right to a quality education, and everyone should work towards giving Filipino children the education they deserve. Aside from supporting their programs financially, we also see to it that our partners get involved in the organization’s cause through these volunteer activities,” said Starbucks Philippines president Noey Lopez.
